Introduction

Many stores sell remote controlled race cars. However, many of them cannot drive autonomously. The overall purpose of this project is to design a car from scratch that can not only be maneuverable by a remote control, but also be able to race and navigate autonomously. The remote control for this car will be an Android application that communicates with the car using Bluetooth technology. In order to make the car move autonomously, a convolutional neural network (CNN) will be developed and trained using Python along custom neural network libraries such as TensorFlow. The microcontroller used for this project will be a Raspberry Pi.
